The son of a carpenter and a touch-typist, I learned early in life to make things with my hands. After taking classes as a teen at the Art Students' League and giving Cooper Union's Architecture School a try, I pursued a career in law from which I took a hiatus in March 2008 to pursue life as a full-time portrait painter.
